This game could become extremely popular! And could make A LOT of money. I have images, videos, and GIFs further detailing the idea on my blog please check it out: Because dodging out of the way of your opponent's sword will also be an integral part of combat. Whoever wins, is based on whoever has the most control over the movement of their sword, their sword state, their opponent's sword state, and last of all, their body. A state where your sword is able to cut, and a state where your sword will phase through things doing no damage. The game mechanics themselves will actually be very simple, it will all be based around sword states. Instead, take advantage that, and make it an integral part of the sword fighting game mechanics.

The idea itself is instead of trying to figure out a way to fix the problem of you phasing through everything without physical forces to halt you. Well i think i may have come up with an idea not only to solve this problem purely through software, but in the process, potential make one of the most popular games for VR. The problem with this is the lack haptic feedback, the fact that if a sword clashed in VR, the virtual sword and body would come to a halt, but the body in reality, with nothing to stop it, would keep moving forward. So you of course know that one of biggest dreams/goals of VR is to be able simulate a sword fight. The game would be made specifically for the HTC Vive. I have been recently thinking of this idea for a game. Simple idea to create potentially one of the most popular games for VR

I'm trying to provide enough to keep it interesting and give people an idea how to do some rapid prototypes, but if there's stuff that's not clear or not detailed enough, speak up and let me know so I can make it better for you. I have the first 4 planned out and a big list for the last 3, but if someone has a good idea that's realistic in a 4-6hr time window, I'd love to hear it.Īlso if there's any extra info you'd like to see in the posts, please let me know. I'm also open to suggestions for the last half of the games.

If you have a Vive PRE in hand, you can also download and try out the experiences. I’ll also provide a download link for any current Vive owners to try it out and see how the experiences turn out. I’ll spend a single day on each game (really about 4-6h of a day), creating the base gameplay and polishing up the experience a little.Īfter each game is complete, I’ll post the results here with a gameplay video and some thoughts on how it worked out. Each day, I’ll be creating a new Unity game developed specifically for the HTC VIVE. This week, I’ve decided to start a new VIVE challenge.
